Our Mission
To be the leader in orthopedic post-academic education, research and the treatment of lower extremity deformities in children and adults in communities in need.
CLESF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit (IRS Tax Code) founded in 2006.
Background
Ramiro J. Atristaín-Carrión together with Dr. Edgardo R. Rodriguez founded CLESF in 2006, since they knew of many cases of children born with lower extremity deformities in Latin America. Since its inception, CLESF has organized teams of surgeons who generously donate their time, expertise, and resources to perform intensive surgeries on children. These dedicated doctors have successfully improved limb function using external fixation devices, gradually correcting deformities over time. Their efforts have even led to bone lengthening procedures, ultimately saving limbs that were once deemed for amputation. CLESF has received support from various organizations and witnessed the altruism of many doctors who have contributed their time, skills, and resources to this noble cause.
